Johnson: Lt. Col. Martin Evers, Seattle Metroplex Guard, Clearance Overwatch; Major Tennessee Feathers of Harvest, Seattle Metroplex Guard, Special Forces
Relevant NPCs: Tif Crypzntch, EVO employee, deceased; inhabited by free spirit (Croki fae) Francesca Hestares Buonoventura van Ulffson; free spirit (Jarl Fae)Jarl Earlbach von Hasselman uoc Thien VIIIth;
Location: Seattle
Opposition: inhabited nanorigging cyberhacker EVO PR cover Croki Fae, Horizon Dawkins Group operatives June Beck and Tandy Robbins, Studio 78 security systems, Foundation Security: Horizon Studio 78.
Collateral: Snowflake was kidnapped by the Croki after he was recognized at a bar trying to catch surveillance on her. Unfortunately for the Croki, her mind probe was passively resisted by the sodium pentethol patch she had to apply to him in the bathroom in haste before kidnapping him out of the bar and returning with him to her lair. The croki, recognizing a corporate SINner, SURGEr, and magically talented individual, bartered Snowflake's compulsed and bewitched soul to pay for her own material debt. Unable to approach the soul issue, the Jarl settled with a dream pact, eager to take revenge against Horizon for his losses in the casinos of Las Vegas.
Synopsis: Runners were paid to surveil a relationship with a believed 'cheat' or possible 'honeypot' situation for a VIP. Prior legal methods of surveillance had failed. RUnners IDd the Johnson as undercover UCAS or governmental security by the end of the meet, but accepted the Job anyway as as they were unsure whether or not this actually was a ploy or protection for the VIP. They discovered and elaborate scheme by Dawkins infiltrators to use hostile possession to turn Tif, and then the VIP, to working for them, gaining access to secured information from both companies - EVO (Tif) and FedBo (VIP). Their VIP turned out to be an elevated clone batch from an early UCAS military breeding project; Tif had been hostile possessed by a Croki for months, and the military had been systematically wiping and brainwashing the VIP to prevent data breach while attempting to counter-surveil the honeypot situation. While Snowflake and Raptor provided some real world recon, the deckers kept the show running with the pertinent surveillance information. The team finally ID'd the pickup-team for Tif's infodumps, and the fact Tif was possessed at all - after a number of infosearches, drone pursuits and a bad time at a bar for Snowflake, resulting in new problems. After collecting a majority of evidence, the Deckers decided to risk it all in the final hours and dive the foundation of the facility they saw the infodump agent disappear into; after ID'ing the team in the archive, the team quickly absconded, leaving personal anchors until the next cyclical metaphor change might prompt the spiders to clear out all the anchors.
Special Rewards: Slicer subsitutes 8000 nuyen from the reward as an extra payment for preparations from contact Taka Hayakawa, raising loyalty +1
Special Rewards: Snowflake charged 12 RVP from run reward; receives contact Jarl Earlbach (6/1, Free Spirit, Service: Magical Advice, Power: Dream Pact), Solid Rep: EVO SURGED, pays double income tax on SINner quality this month, knowledge skill: Seelie Court [chosen link], knowledge skill specialization [Fae] for Spirits.
Background All characters in this story have extremely long backstories; Tif has been acting weirder and weirder, according to her significant other, the VIP, for the last few months. The VIP believes some kind of malfeasance may be going on at a corporate level and wants this investigated after her legal P.I.s have their equipment destroyed. Meet Downtown Seattle, 'THE JERKZ CHYKN SHAACK' Run Hx61 lead T6's and profiling attempts on the VIP and the secondary to get a clearer picture of the minor datafiles they had been handed by the J. After checking out some minor hosts around the subjects, the hackers collated with the physical team's reconnaissance efforts. Raptor planted some surveillance drones outside the property line, while Snowflake got a closer look at the property. Located in a AAA corporate park, the property had some nice defense, but the runners waited a little while to check out some of the other linked properties in the neighborhood. Eventually, simple surveillance and persistence gave them a detailed picture of people entering the property as shapeshifters while the VIP was at work, and the various functionalities of quite a few hosts surrounding the access of these individuals to corporate servers. When Hx summons a guidance spirit, the auguries point towards some sort of astral phenomenon and a possible influencing hand in the situation. Their deepest fears were realized, however, when the team celebrity - Snowflake - was kidnapped by the Croki and ransomed to a Jarl Fae while attempting to ID her magical signature up close. The rest of the team were unable to provide timely rescue, and refused to make any further physical contact with Snowflake afterward, out of superstition. Snowflake succeeds in not having his brain probed by the Croki before sale to the Jarl, whose immediate sweet-talking and insane desire for a corp SINner attached to the biggest gambling city on the planet were too easy for the Croki to exploit. After pursuing the seconday influencers, they realized that Horizon corpsec was possibly managing Dawkins mages using shapechange spells to to avoid detection on long term counter-intelligence and contact gathering operations. Hacking the foundation, they found that Horizon had been tuning the foundation's metaphor as a Neil the Ork Barbarian Dungeons & Dragons-esque adventure, and the players took up classic Warrior, Thief, priest, and wizard roles. Slicer luckily started in the archive, keeping movement minimal; once the master node was reached, the team gave themselves beneficial metaphor sculpts, kept their variance low, and got the fuck out as quickly as possibly, planting anchors near the portal node. Aftermath Snowflake has acquired a 6/1 contact, a Jarl Fae. Slicer Purchased booster potions from Taka, boosting loyalty with a health tip. Tif will attempted to get extracted by Evo, with dire results. The croki escapes. Expenses No expenses over 1k nuyen; casual drugs.

Royal Vegas Casino Review
When a casino operator decides to launch multiple brands, it is unusual for them to launch them all at once; they are typically staggered over a series of years, and sometimes the original site can get a bit stale as the focus shifts to new brands. The subject of this review, Royal Vegas Casino, is one of the old guards of online casinos. Since its launch, its parent company has gone on to manage 19 other brands; have they put this site out to pasture, or is it still worth your time and money? That is what I plan to find out with this honest, legit review of this casino.
About Royal Vegas Casino
Royal Vegas was one of the flagship sites of the Fortune Lounge Group when it was launched in 2000. It is now one of the 20 brands under the Digimedia Casino umbrella, alongside sister sites such as Casino Epoca, Spin Palace, and Platinum Play. In fact, while I was performing my initial stages of this review, I did notice a significant number of similarities between this casino and Platinum Play. As a result, much of this review may sound the same to many of you; I apologize, but I am going to look behind every corner to find all the differences between the two. All of the Digimedia casinos have a license from the Malta Gaming Authority. This regulatory board keeps a watchful eye over all of its approved casinos, ensuring that player funds are safe and that the casino is completely above board when it comes to fairness and security.
Software Suppliers
Royal Vegas uses two software partners for the two sides of their online casino. The Live Dealer games are provided by industry-leader Evolution Gaming. We’ll talk more about these games further down this review; they are only available via the Instant Play format. For the remainder of the casino, Royal Vegas is powered by Microgaming, one of the industry’s longest-standing and top providers of games. In fact, Royal Vegas is one of Microgaming’s oldest clients, so this casino has seen all the improvements they have made over the years. Microgaming’s casino is available in Instant Play format, but if you want all the games and the full casino experience, you are better served downloading the casino client to your desktop. >>Get Free Spins Now<<
The Good Stuff
Progressive Jackpots
When you hit the casino lobby, your eyes track immediately to the ticker which shows how much money is available in progressive jackpots on the site. The total is currently around 2.5 Million USD; almost half of that can be found in the Mega Moolah game. One spin of those reels could win you just over a million dollars! You should spend a couple minutes playing every time you log in; you never know which spin might be the one that changes your life!
A Clear Opt-Out Option
Wow. You don’t see this very often at a casino. Right there with an overview of the promotions and the rewards is a tab named Unsolicited Communications, where they outline how to opt-out of emails, and their policy to not just spam their players. Well done, Royal Vegas – this is most impressive.
The Bad Stuff
So Much Is the Same
One thing about operating many casinos is that sometimes it is easy to just copy and paste one site into another. From a games standpoint, that is exactly what has happened with Royal Vegas. If you are already a player with Platinum Play, you probably don’t need to play here; the casino lobby is exactly the same.
Quick Points Expiry
You will read a little later on how important a Comp Program is in my eyes; not only do I like to be able to redeem the points for cash, but I also like to try to move up VIP levels as quickly as possible. I noticed that the points at Royal Vegas have an expiry of 60 days; that is significantly faster than the industry standard of 90 days. This is a little disheartening considering you need to accumulate 5,000 to convert them. In my opinion, one of those rules needs to be adjusted. >>Get Free Spins Now<<
Royal Vegas Casino Game Selection
Slots
Even though you can see these games at many of the Digimedia Casinos, it is entirely possible that this is your first time seeing Microgaming in action. If so, you are in for a real treat. The slots catalog is bursting at the seams with titles for you to choose from; at last count, there were well over 300 slot machines in the casino lobby. What I particularly enjoy are all the games that feature brands I know from other walks of life; you will see many of those along with other in-house content that I have enjoyed playing from the list below:

Live Dealer Games
I mentioned earlier how much I love the Live Dealer games from Evolution. Truth be told, I enjoy live casino games form virtually any supplier. The pace of these games is much different than the traditional online casino; I also love watching the dealers on the live stream having to deal those oversized cards! At Royal Vegas, you can find the Live Casino games in the “Tables” tab of the lobby, and from there you can choose from the following games:
Caribbean Stud Poker
Dream Catcher
Blackjack
Roulette
Casino Hold’em
Video Poker
I am sure I am one of the craziest video poker nuts I know. Sometimes, I will find myself at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, playing at one of the machines at the bar while also playing a game on my phone at one of the online casinos I have reviewed. Yes, that may be considered extreme behavior, but I can’t help it – I love these games! When it comes to the selection at Royal Vegas, you will find a significant number of machines and pay tables. It is important to look at the pay tables before playing a game; you want to make sure the variant you are playing gives you the best return for your betting style. Also, you may find the multi-hand versions of the games exciting; there is nothing better than a Royal Flush except maybe 4 of them on the same hand! Check out the types of video poker games you can play at this casino:
All Aces
Jacks or Better
All American
Aces & Faces
Double Bonus
Bonus Deuces Wild
Tens or Better
Aces & Eights
Deuces & Joker
Double Double Bonus
Joker Poker (kings or better)
Bonus Poker Deluxe
Double Joker
Deuces Wild
Louisiana Double
Table Games
For this casino review, I decided to do something different when testing the Table Games. I chose to play a game I don’t play very often and give it a full 45 minutes session. This time I decided on 3 Card Poker; this is a game I tend to play only with my friends after way too many drinks in Vegas, so I thought I would try it in the comfort of my own home. The end result? Well, I am still not sure if I like the game as much as I do other Table Games; thankfully there is a full complement of those at Royal Vegas:
3 Card Poker
Atlantic City Blackjack
Atlantic City Gold Blackjack
Bonus Blackjack
Classic Blackjack
Craps
Crown and Anchor
Cyberstud Poker
Double Exposure
European Blackjack Redeal
European Gold Blackjack
Hi-Lo 13 European Blackjack
Keno
Pai Gow Poker
Premier High Streak Blackjack
Poker Pursuit
Red Dog
Roulette
Sic Bo
Spanish Blackjack
Vegas Downtown Blackjack
Vegas single deck Blackjack
Vegas Strip Blackjack
Specialty Games
Now, the honest truth here: I did not test any of these “Casual Games” in reviewing Royal Vegas. While many of you may love to play these games, I consider them nothing more than a time-filler, and a costly one at that. However, should you get the itch to try one of them out, here are all the options you have to choose from:
While the casino lobby can look the same, where I am hoping to find some differences between this casino and its sister properties is in the promotional area. I am going to have a look at two promotions in detail here in this review:
Welcome Bonus
This offer for first-time depositing players is eerily similar to the one being offered by Platinum Play, but this one is just a little bit sweeter. They are offering you up to $1,200 in bonuses and 120 Free Spins in their Welcome Bonus, along the following lines:
On your first deposit: a 100% deposit match up to $/€250 plus unlock 30 Free Spins on Dragon Dance-a minimum deposit of $/€10 is required to receive your Spins
On your second deposit: a 25% deposit match up to $/€200 plus unlock 40 Free Spins on Wild Orient
On your third deposit: 50% deposit match up to $/€750 plus unlock 50 Free Spins on the SunTide
So, this is definitely different than the other casino; first off, it is more money. Also, it is only spread over three deposits (all of which must be made within 7 days). I was able to access the Terms and Conditions page and found there that the wagering requirement for this bonus (and all other bonuses) is 40x the bonus amount; that is a competitive rate, so it’s definitely worth giving this bonus a shot.
Wild Wins Wheel
This is a great ongoing promotion that by the sounds of things has been run before at this casino. It is a time-sensitive offer (this one looks to be about three weeks long), and has straightforward rules:
Play your favorite games to earn Rewards points
Your Rewards points will fill up the progress bar
Each time you reach 100%, you’ll get a spin on the jungle wheel
Prizes on the wheel include Free Spins, Rewards points and a Bonus Round for even bigger prizes!
You can try and spin the jungle wheel as many times as possible to win your share of €300,000 in instant prizes
I like that the casino has offers like this available for players; the sense of urgency to play games before the promo ends provides motivation to play more often, which is obviously good for the casino. >>Get Free Spins Now<<
Banking
Getting your money to this site is not going to be a problem. As you will see below, the number of payment methods offered is staggering. Also, if you have a problem with the first method you choose, as I did, the casino works fast to ensure you are still on the hook. I received a Live Chat message as soon as my deposit was rejected, followed by being walked through another method which ended up being successful. That is an excellent way to keep players interested.

Royal Vegas Casino VIP Program
Along with the Comp Program, all real money players are entered into Royal Vegas’s VIP Program. This program has two parts to it; an in-house tiered program that rewards players from the second they make a deposit, and access for higher-level players to the Fortune Lounge VIP program, where you can find yourself being invited to some of the most exclusive parties and events in the online casino world.
Would I Play at Royal Vegas Casino?
Well, here’s the thing: I have a real money account at Platinum Play and have used the Welcome Bonus, so I am not even sure I will be able to take advantage of the superior offer from Royal Vegas. If you haven’t opened an account at either, I would suggest you do so at Royal Vegas first, then see what happens after you clear the bonus. The site itself is great: an excellent selection of games, a great comp and VIP program, and a whole host of ways to contact the casino in real-time if you have any issues. I have no problem recommending this casino to anyone- time has not passed Royal Vegas by, and they remain one of the flagship brands of the Digimedia Casino group! >>Get Free Spins Now<<
Recapping a CRAZY article on Trump, Epstein, and Elite Model Management
I saw this article on the Epstein sub and wanted to recap it because it is a doozy and should be widely read. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/ma14/teen-models-powerful-men-when-donald-trump-hosted-look-of-the-year Elite Model Management was founded by John Casablancas in 1972. John Casablancas is the father of Julian Casablancas, lead singer of the Strokes. From 1983 to 1995, Elite Model Management hosted an annual show and competition called “Look of the Year.” The show is still running under the name “Elite Model Look.” Contestants are as young as 14. This show was and is a big deal - contestants have included Gisele Bündchen, Tom Brady’s wife, even Melania Trump. It has stared many modeling careers. The grand prize of the competition is a $150,000 contract with Elite. The Look of the Year contests were used as a cover to get young girls away from their parents and in an environment where they can be preyed upon by wealthy men. For example, Casablancas was sued by a former Look of the Year contestant. According to the lawsuit, when she was 15 and Casablancas was 46, at Look of the Year 1988 in Japan, Casablancas said he was “falling in love” with her. At the end of the competition, the lawsuit states, “contestants drank and partied late into the evening” and Casablancas told the teenager to come to his hotel room. There, Casablancas sexually abused the girl “several times over the evening”. The abuse allegedly continued the following year; when the girl became pregnant, Casablancas told her “she would be having an abortion”. The abortion was allegedly “arranged and paid for” by Elite. Trump was a large part of these early competitions. In 1991, he was a sponsor and a judge, and hosted the event in Trump Plaza near Central Park. David Copperfield, who is also in the black book, was a judge in 1988 and 1991. One of the judges in 1991, Gèrald Marie, raped one of the contestants when she was 13: “Lee says the #MeToo movement has emboldened her to talk about what happened next. It was her first sexual experience. “I just froze,” she says. “I really didn’t know what to do.” Looking back 30 years later, she feels she was taken advantage of. “I just felt really pressured,” she says. “I was really young and I was manipulated.” She told a friend what had happened, and this soon got back to Elite’s agents. “They all knew something went down, but they downplayed it,” says Lee, who is now 42 and works as a makeup artist in Toronto. “It was just understood that it was in my best interest to walk away from it and brush it under the rug.” “Questions about Marie’s alleged mistreatment of teenage models are not new. In 2000, New York magazine reported that two of Elite’s senior women executives had pleaded with both Casablancas and Marie to stop sleeping with underage models, but had been ignored. (“We are men,” Marie reportedly said. “We have our needs.”) In 2011, the Elite supermodel and actor Carré Otis alleged that Marie had repeatedly raped her when she was a 17-year-old model in Paris in the 1980s. Two years ago, another Elite model, Ebba Karlsson, accused Marie of raping her when she was 21.” The next year, In 1992, Trump had a party on a boat for the contestants and a group of wealthy men: “One of the girls on the boat was Shawna Lee, then a 14-year-old from a small town outside Toronto. She recalls how the contestants were encouraged to parade downstairs, one by one, and dance for Trump, Casablancas and others. Lee, an introverted teenager who loved to draw but hated school, was in New York for the first time. “A woman at the agency was pushing me,” she recalls. “I said to her, ‘I don’t see why me going down the stairs and dancing in front of those two has anything to do with me becoming a model. And she said, ‘No, you look great, take off your blazer and go and do it.’ So I walked down the stairs. I didn’t dance – I blew a kiss at them, spun around and walked away.” The average age of the competitors in 92 was 15. The winner, Mariann Molski, was 14. Casablancas married Aline Wermelinger, a 1992 contestant, the following year when she was 17. He was 51. David Weil, a financial manager for models under Elite, pled guilty to the statutory rape of a 15-year-old he met at 1992’s Look of the Year competition. Trump, Epstein and Casablancas all knew each other. In 1990, Casablancas sent a teenage model to Epstein’s house in New York City where she was assaulted. Trump and Casablancas were often seen together starting in the late 80s. In 1993, Trump organized a party for Epstein: “George Houraney, a businessman whose American Dream Calendar Girls beauty contest had been running in Las Vegas casinos since 1978, recalls encountering Epstein at Mar-a-Lago in January 1993. Houraney says that Trump asked him to organise a party that month with some of his pageant’s finalists, promising to invite heads of modelling agencies and prospective sponsors for his competition. “He had me fly in all these girls, and gave me a $30,000 budget for airfares and limos to pick them up at the airport,” he says. “The girls were all decked out, expecting to meet all these VIPs.” But after an hour at the party, Houraney says, there seemed to be only one other guest: Epstein. “I was like, ‘Donald, where are the guys? What’s going on here?’ And he said, ‘Well, this is it.’” Houraney says he realised “this is a Jeff Epstein party, basically.”
I wrote a recap on the story candleflame3 posted, crazy information
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/ma14/teen-models-powerful-men-when-donald-trump-hosted-look-of-the-year Elite Model Management was founded by John Casablancas in 1972. Now that the calendar has turned to April, we’re about to begin one of the more popular months regarding traffic in this sub. If last year is any guide, ticket sales and a lineup drop could happen within the next 2-3 weeks. Since there will likely be lots of new faces here inquiring about the festival - we're already starting to see repeat questions - and I have been every year thus far, I figured I would put together sort of an FAQ for this festival based on the questions that have come up in previous years. Hopefully to anyone going to this festival for the first time, this will prove to be helpful. Before reading through the FAQ, I do want to caution readers…this festival changes things all the time. They are not always consistent with things like other festivals so while the answers below reflect on what was done in the past, that may not necessarily be the case this year. Where is the festival located?
The festival is located in downtown Las Vegas. The footprint of the festival changes slightly each year, but it is roughly an 18 square block area of downtown. If you are familiar with the Fremont Street Experience, the gates are essentially right across the street from there.
When is the festival this year?
September 20-22.
When does the lineup drop?
In 2017 the lineup dropped on April 25th. Last year, it dropped April 24th.
When do tickets go on sale?
They used to do a pre-sale in February but changed things up last year. The pre-sale was about a week before the lineup drop. General ticket sales happened a few days after the lineup drop.
The pre-sale always sells out quickly…at least for GA.
Do they offer payment plans?
Yes, but not for tickets purchased during the pre-sale
Will the festival sell out?
Before 2017, it never sold out. However, GA sold out both in 2017 and 2018. In 2017, GA sold out in about three hours. It took almost right up until the festival dates for GA to sell out in 2018, but we found out they increased capacity, so they had more passes to sell.
I'm not sure if VIP has ever sold out.
Does the festival sell single day tickets?
Each of the previous years they have put single day tickets on sale. About one or two months after tickets go on sale, they have released the daily lineup and put single day tickets on sale.
Can you upgrade from GA to VIP?
Every year you have been able to upgrade from GA to VIP at the festival, but that may be because VIP hasn’t ever sold out.
How many stages are there?
After the first year, there have been four stages. Two rather large stages, a small stage and for the past few years there has been a tent that sort of resembles the Sahara at Coachella.
There is also a very small stage called the Toyota Music Den, which is basically a canopy and some artists playing at the festival will do acoustic or DJ sets for about 30 minutes at this tent.
What time does the festival run each day?
The past few years, music has run from 3pm to 1am. The gates have opened at 2pm.
Does LIB usually have late adds after the lineup is released?
Up until last year there were late adds every year. Sometimes it was just one act and sometimes it was a half dozen. However, last year, there were no late adds.
Can I go in and out of the festival?
The rules on this have changed from year to year but if they do what they have done the previous two years then the answer is yes. If you have a GA ticket, you can go in and out three times each day, but you must be back in the festival by 9pm. If you have VIP you get unlimited in and outs.
Where should I stay?
You definitely want to stay as close to Fremont Street as possible so you can easily walk from your hotel to the festival. This is also helpful for those in and outs each day.
There are the casino hotels on Fremont Street and there are several other hotels just off of Fremont Street. This thread from last year has lots of good info in it. This thread from about a month ago also has good info.
Be careful of Airbnb's. In 2017, Vegas authorities started cracking down on Airbnb's in the unincorporated parts of the city and a couple people got their Airbnb's canceled. More information on that is here.
It has been two years now and I think things have been settled, but if you're going to book an Airbnb, make sure it is a legal, legit one.
Even last year people had their Airbnb’s canceled, but you run that risk any time you book an Airbnb for any festival.
When should I book my hotel?
If you are planning to go to the festival and haven't booked something yet, do it now! Prices are only going to go up. Way up in some instances. Once everyone gets their festival tickets, they are going to start booking hotels.
The difference in hotel prices in April versus August can be quite staggering for a lot of the hotels.
Are the ticket and hotel packages worth it?
There have been a couple people in the past that did the math and determined that it was cheaper to buy your tickets and the hotels separately. However, that assumed that you booked the hotel early, before prices spike. If you waited too long to book the hotel, then the packages made better sense.
Since tickets haven't gone on sale yet and we don't know much about what, if any packages will be offered (at the time of this post), the math may work out very different this year.
What is the area like around the festival?
If you leave the festival grounds and walk to the Fremont Street Experience, you will be fine. Just about every other direction around the festival area can be a little sketchy at night.
There were people that stayed at the Thunderbird Hotel last year. I have met people that stayed at Hostel Cat as well. Both are OK but know they are roughly a mile away from the festival. Walking to the festival during the day is fine, but you probably don't want to walk back to those locations after the festival ends.
What if I am staying on The Strip or further away? How do I get to and from the festival each day?
You have plenty of options. You can Uber or Lyft. Getting to the festival should be easy, but be prepared for long lines and big surge pricing after the festival ends. To combat that, head out to Fremont Street for a little bit and then organize your ride.
You can also take a regular taxi. Here's a tip: if you take a taxi back, walk to one of the Fremont Street hotels and hail the taxi from there. You won't be up against hordes of other people trying to leave right outside the festival gates.
You can drive and park. The festival offers parking at the World Market and provides shuttles to and from there. I did this the first year of the festival and it was very efficient. However, they now charge per person in the car so I wouldn't recommend this option.
The city of Las Vegas opened three lots close to the festival last year for parking and you could book a spot for as little as $15 per day. Other people and businesses have provided private parking as well and the prices have been all over the place.
Finally, you can take The Deuce bus between downtown and certain hotels on The Strip. It will be the slowest method of transportation, but $8 will get you to and from the festival each day and it runs every 15-20 minutes, 24 hours a day.
What is the food and drink like inside the festival?
Food has always been a big part of this festival. They will release a food lineup before the festival and it usually quite good. If there is nothing you like or it is too expensive, you can always leave the festival for cheaper eats on Fremont Street.
As for alcohol, they have bars and a craft beer area. As you would expect, prices are inflated big time. However, you can always go into Container Park, which is contained within the festival grounds and go to the restaurants and bars in there. The businesses in there jack up food and drink prices from what they normally charge, but it will be a little cheaper than in the rest of the festival.
Can I bring food and drink inside the festival?
Outside food and drink (other than water) is not allowed. Can you sneak it in? Maybe. If you are experienced and successful at doing this at other festivals, you will probably be able to do it here as well.
For the last couple years you were allowed to bring in two sealed water bottles (up to 1 liter, I believe) that were full of water. You could bring in empty bottles and/or an empty Camelback. They have water refill stations within the festival.
What is security like?
I don't go to a lot of festivals myself, but I have found it to be the same as most other festivals.
A lot of people thought security would be tighter last year after the events in Vegas in 2017 but it really wasn’t.
What will the weather be like?
Who knows? 2015 was the first year this festival moved to September (it used to be in October). That year it was over 100 degrees each day and was pretty miserable. That was followed by two years that were quite cooler than normal. Last year was pretty damn hot again.
What should I wear?
Whatever the hell you want. No one would care.
If you only take one bit of advice though, take this: wear comfortable shoes! The vast majority of the footprint of this festival is on asphalt. Make sure your feet are properly supported. If you are one of those people (like my wife) who thinks fashion should take priority over comfort...well, do that the other 362 days of the year if you like. I personally wear my gym or running shoes. They are rather ugly, but my feet thank me at the end of the festival.
Are there official after parties?
There have been official after parties each year. I'm sure there will be some this year as well.
The last two years they have done pool parties at the Downtown Grand at 10am, so it was a “before” party.
Is VIP worth it?
Everyone is going to have a different opinion on that. There are VIP-specific bars at the two main stages. They have AC, couches and private bathrooms. There is grass on the ground for VIP at the two main stages as well and you'll have more room to enjoy yourself. Now is all that worth over double the price? Only you can answer that for yourself.
It is important to note that only two of the four stages have a VIP area.
This thread from last year had a good debate going. Same with this one from a couple months ago.
What is the bathroom situation like?
The VIP bathrooms are air conditioned and nice.
As you might expect, for GA, there are porta potties everywhere, but there are real bathrooms outside of VIP to be found if you know where to look. Container Park has them. The cooling room inside the Western, where the art is sold has them. The building where the comedians performed last year (The Venue) has them. The building where the Miss Behave Game Show was hosted last year has them.
Is the festival kid friendly?
Previously, kids under six (I think) got in for free. I don't think that makes the festival kid friendly, but if you bring kids, there is a playground area in Container Park where the kids can play.
EDIT 4/16/19: The policy has changed. Now, only kids aged two and under get in free.
What is the bag policy?
The festival started a new policy where you could only bring in a clear regular sized backpack. You could still bring in a regular sized fanny pack and drawstring bags,
Any advice on the festival?
This is the best piece of advice I have seen regarding this festival. The line about the speakers may no longer be relevant because unfortunately, it seems as though LIB has gotten rid of the speaker series but they do have a comedy lineup, so you can replace the speakers with comedians and the advice is still good.
Once again, wear comfortable shoes!
Sorry for this being so long, but I hope it was worth the read.

Summary of Pasquale Rotella's AMA -- Questions & Answers inside!
Questions and answers (and follow up questions and answers) below! I will be updating this until it's a full record of the Q&A, as well as any that Pasquale feels like answering later tonight. AMA Link here
Q: Will you be walking around during edc orlando interacting with fans?Link
A: It's something that I love to do and always find time for. Hope we cross paths at EDC Orlando!
Q: What are your plans for fixing the insane wait times (4-8hrs) and under-utilization of speedway roadways for campEDC check-in? also on the topic of campEDC, is there a plan sell RV pumpout/fresh water passes ONLINE alongside the RV camping pass purchase? (the wait at the general store was brutal.....). Maybe have 2 general stores if online purchase isn't an option?Link
A: Last year's wait times were unacceptable. Fixing that and other processes is one of our main focuses for Camp EDC. We've had many planning meetings just about this. We will have a revised entrance plan that includes more lanes with more people working, check-in staff will be more experienced, and we'll have better processes all around without sacrificing the safety of you, the Headliner. We're also extending check-in hours to spread out the traffic ingress.
Q: Can we have a Pasquale DJ Set at EDC or any insomniac events?Link
A: No plans this year but I'd like to dust off my crates as soon as I get time.
Q: What ever happened to the giant electric Daisy 🌼 and will it ever return????Link
A: I loved that daisy, the artists did an amazing job! I have imagined bringing it back many times. Thank you for the motivation to work on it. No guarantees though as it was a collaboration between Insomniac and the artist troop that we commissioned the piece with. I will definitely reach out to them and work on it!
A: I'm very excited about this years theme. Big announcement coming soon! I was just looking at the new kinetic stage design and WOW I can't wait for you guys to see it.
Q: Do you ever plan on bringing back the megastructure?Link
A: No plan for right now. If we did bring it back it would not be for circuitGROUNDS, as that area is too large. But it could work for another stage and has been considered.
Q: Hey Pasquale! Do you have a favourite non-Insomniac festival?Link
Q: Out of all your festivals, what has been your favorite stage design?Link
A: The kineticFIELD Cathedral but that might change after next years EDC.
Q: What is your ultimate favorite EDM genre? Also, your ultimate favorite artist (that you never get sick of)?Link
A: I bounce around a lot and can’t listen to only one genre of dance music, but I do gravitate towards drum and bass, house, techno, and I’m also really loving a lot of the bass house that’s coming out right now. I would say CamelPhat, Redlight, Dombresky and Fisher are the guys are the guys that I’ve been playing in my car for the last couple days.
Q: Can you give a clue as to who is headlining DOTD?Link
A: It's ZEFINITELY gonna be fun.
AP2: Oh, and we're dropping the lineup today at 4:30. Keep an eye out!
Q: Would you ever consider making a second part, that included some more stories and more experiences? If so, how would one get cast? Also bring back EDC ColoradoLink
A: I think one day we will do it again. No plans on how we would cast it and no plans for an EDC in Denver although we do love it there.
Q: What change are you most excited about for EDC 2019?Link
A: There is not any one change that gets me excited, improving all aspects of the event is the most exciting goal. I'm always looking to improve and make things better. Camp EDC is a focus, new stages, new lineup, new art, creative aspects we've been working on that finally come to fruition, better processes, better logistics, and just an overall better experience. It's all equally important to me.
A: We weren't going to be able to produce and event that measured up to our standards when it comes to experience and safety. If anyone has a unique situation where they've been effected beyond just having to get a ticket refund, I'd like to know more about it personally. Please have them email [email protected] and in the subject line write Sacred Valley/Reddit AMA. Myself or another Insomniac will get back to them. I can't guarantee that we can satisfy everyone, but we will do our best.
Q: Are there any plans to bring EDC back to Europe?Link
A: Yes, I'm excited to say I'm in the middle of planning that now
Q: I found out that my mother in law used to be close to the Insomniac family. She was mamá Irene's hairdresser and claims she taught her how to DANCE🕺 She said she used to be best friends with your sister Nicole. Do you remember Dimpna?Link
A: My mom was very social, loved to get her hair did, and she was always trying to learn new dance moves. She did have some of her own as well. I don’t recall meeting Dimpna, but that doesn’t mean much because my mom would introduce me to fifty new people every time I was with her.
Q: Serious question, are all the stage names and/or designs all related to Physics? For example, Kinetic field- kinetic energy is the energy of motion (people dancing). Circuit grounds, the stage had large screens all around with bars connecting each screen(like a circuit). Quantum valley, a bunch of box shaped screens on stage and the quani’s movement was first discovered in a box. Am I crazy or am I catching on to something?Link
A: You're catching on to something and maybe you should work here!
Q: How are experiences going to differ from GA+ and VIP this year?Link
A: We wanted to introduce a midway point between GA and VIP. GA+ elevates your festival experience with expedited, dedicated GA+ entry and special access to premium, air-conditioned restrooms. We're always pushing to enhance the VIP experience every year and VIP amenities can be found at edclasvegas.com/VIP.
Q: Hi Pasquale have you considered doing an EDC Passport for all the EDC’s in a year?Link
A: We're planning something super unique that we’ve never done before, and I’m very excited to announce it before the end of the year. It includes what you’re describing and much, much more.
Q: Would one be able to refund their EDC ticket or pay the remaining balance between their EDC ticket and said potential 'Passport'?
A: The program is still being developed so I don't want to dive too deep into details, but anything we do will not apply to EDC Las Vegas 2019.
A: They will be evenly spread out along the strip and downtown. Most will be the same as last year, with the exception of Tropicana, but we are working on a replacement for the south strip as well as adding more locations.
Q: I have been taking my 60 year old mother to EDC the past two years now, this upcoming EDC will be her third! She absolutely loves it! Besides ADA accessibility do you have plans to help accommodate older ravers? Example: she had a hard time walking to the shuttles/parking lots and we did not want to spend $40 for someone to bike us out to our shuttle/car. I would love to see insomniac help older ravers during those times.Link
A: First of all, I love you for bringing your Mom to the festival! I want to see more generations enjoying this beautiful culture and community. I welcome all ideas on how we can encourage and support all the seasoned ravers who want to continue attending our events. If you have ideas hit us up at [email protected].
Q: Is there anything you wish you could offer or provide your event attendees that isn't possible currently?Link
A: The ability to help them with real life problems, but I'm working on it!
Q: How far in advance is EDC planned? Like does Insomniac already have a theme set for say the next 5 EDCs or do you all just kind of go with the flow?Link
A: There is a flow to what we do but we definitely plan in advance. We started planning EDC Vegas 2019 before 2018 even happened.
Q: Do you already have big surprises planned for EDC 2019? If so, can you give even the slightest hint of what we're in store for?Link
A: Yes, there are many surprises! Right now, just because I was working on it earlier this morning, I have to say the kineticFIELD stage might be the most epic stage we’ll have in the history of EDC.
A: I want Middlelands back but we can't bring it back unless we have the right venue. I'm never gonna give up, I'm not giving up on that. We're going to find a venue we just haven't found it yet.
Q: What’s your favorite part about edc even after so many years?Link
A: How much value it brings to people's lives
Q: How many total fireworks do you set off over the 3 days?Link
A: Over the course of three nights, around 15,000 fireworks are shot off.
Q: During security check at festivals, a lot of the security guards have been groping and using unethical forms of search. How can we protect ourselves from this?Link
A: We take this issue very, very seriously, and we ask that anyone who experiences something like this immediately take note of the guard's jacket number and reach out to a supervisor or an Insomniac staff member to make us aware. You can also reach out to me on my personal socials and our Insomniac socials. We're always listening.
Q: Any chance to get the DJs from my hay day such as Richard Vision, DJ Irene, Bad Boy Bill, just to name a few?Link
A: If you want to check out DJ Irene, she's actually playing the Freshjive event going on at Bodega this Saturday which we're involved with and supporting!
Q: What is one thing at EDC that you think most attendees miss out on during the 3 days there? Or what is something every attendee should do while at EDC?Link
A: I think one of the things people are missing out on is Camp EDC. Aside from the entrance experience that is going to be fixed, the energy and vibe there was so unique and I was really excited about it. At EDC itself, I would say checking out the nooks and crannies like the saloon and the live band in there. Of course, seeing an amazing DJ at the big stages is cool but I really think looking out for artists you've never heard of or up-and-coming DJs is something everyone should do.
Q: I've been to Nocturnal 3 times, and it definitely is my favorite festival, the camping experience makes everything better. That being said, I've never been to Camp OG till this year. It blew my mind! It felt like a 90s rave (from what I've seen in videos of old raves) and some jungle, dnb and breakbeats after the rave feels sooooo freaken good. Why isn't Camp OG promoted a little more?Link
A: Thanks for sharing your experience. I also love those guys. They're the first group of people that supported Insomniac and have been loyal supporters since 1993. It very much does have that old-school vibe. We don't promote it because it's renegade and underground. Stumbling on it is part of the fun, and there's no guarantee that anything will be going on at any given time.
Q: Are there any plans to update EDC's streaming coverage? It is pretty unsatisfying to see 15-30 minutes of a set and feel that limiting it to two or three stages permanently would be far better viewer experience than getting chopped up sets. If you do go that route, Neon Garden has to be one of them!Link
A: We are planning to do multiple channels which will allow multiple stages and full sets to be streamed
Q: What are your thoughts on having drug test kits available at your events?Link
A: I’ve actually had DanceSafe at our events a while back, but when the venue, the local authorities, and the insurers are opposed to it, you won’t have that city or location as an option. It’s already hard enough to find venues where I can organize events. Unfortunately some people view partnering with DanceSafe or other harm reduction groups as endorsing drug use rather than keeping people safe, and that can prevent producers from getting locations and organizing events.
Q: What type of team does it take to put together an event on this scale? Who designs your amazing stages year after year?Link
A: There are about 100 Insomniacs here in the office working on the festival year-round, but we actually subcontract out thousands of staff during the festival. I personally work on all of the stages with the creative department here at Insomniac HQ and we also collaborate with outside artists, which changes from year to year depending on the stage and event.
Q: My group and I will be first time EDC attendees in 2019, do you have any tips for us?Link
A: Wear comfy shoes, stay hydrated, plan a meeting spot with your crew, and dress up to contribute to the atmosphere (that's always appreciated). When you walk through the gates imagine walking through a portal that allows you to leave all judgement behind and open your heart, be your best self, and put out the best energy you have.
Q: Is it a possibility artists can use their own visuals on Kinetic this year?Link
A: It's always possible. We've done that before and it's better when its a collaboration so it's not a bunch of flashing logos and instead it is art that ties into the stage and theme.
Q: How would I go about trying to get my foot in the door with Insomniac?Link
A: I appreciate you having interest in working at Insomniac. When there are job openings, they become available on Insomniac.com. In addition, there are also opportunities with on-site teams including Ground Control, Customer Experience, and our Merchandise department. Keep an eye out for more information!
Q: Can you consider having more places to sit and relax at EDC? There seemed to be only one local area with picnic tables and fake grass but it was pretty filthy and limited in seating.Link
A: I agree with you about the cleanliness of Carnival Square. We're demanding that the clean-up company we used last year perform better. If you're looking to chill, the art areas on either side of cosmicMEADOW are awesome. And one of the best views in the house is on the grandstands where there are lots of seats.
Q: I am devastated to hear about you and Holly. You two were the “goals” couple hands down. What is the best relationship advice would you give?Link
A: Thank you for the nice note. I hope that Holly and I can still inspire people to have amazing relationships even when they change. She is one of my best friends and you’ll still be seeing us roaming the grounds at EDC Las Vegas. Honesty, communication, and a strong connection are all things that support healthy relationships.
Q: What do you do now for fun that you did as a child?Link
A: Surf, rave, sleep, and eat.
Q: What is a food/drink you HAVE to have at least once a week?
A: Mint chip ice cream.
Q: When are you gonna headline the mainstage at EDCLV?
A: That's super flattering but I don't ever see myself headlining MainStage .Maybe on an art car one year.
Q: What do you think your kids will listen to when they get older?
A: I feel like my kids will listen to a little bit of everything because they're exposed to so many different kinds of music that they wont limit themselves.
Q: What would you do if they liked country?
A: I would take them to Stagecoach and on the way we'd continue to listening to Night Owl Radio.
Q: Favorite movie?
A: There is so many but off the top of my head I like the original Dogwtown movie, Boogie Nights, The Godfather, The Breakfast Club, Braveheart, Saving Private Ryan, Back to the Future, Casino, and so many more
A: My first rave was in 1991 in downtown Los Angeles on Oak Street in a place called La Casa. I didn't know the name of it because I didn't even know where the hell I was going. My friends took me!
Q: Would you ever consider bringing back a seperate stage for the discovery project like in 2014?Link
A: We will do this again, no plans right now. At EDC, we still have an art car that hosts these artists for a night.
Q: Last year you mentioned some form of Insomniac Production museum filled with stuff from the events. Any update on that?Link
A: Still working on it. It's one of many goals and it's going to be a while. I envision the museum being at a permanent festival site and that's not easy to come by, we're always looking for a potential place.
Q: I loved that you guys added a green laser above rainbow row. It was beautiful. But why not take it up a notch, and have a laser show at the top of the hour? Maybe Lasers from different directions/places in the speedway will overlap the entire venue. This could probably be during fireworks tooLink
A: Thanks for the creative suggestion! It sounds like something we could really have fun with and we’ll definitely explore this.
Q: How do you plan on expanding from the success of the shuttles this year?Link
A: Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad to hear the experience was better for you. The plan is to continue to push forward and enhance things that have room to be better. If there's something specific you believe we could improve upon, I'd love to hear about it.
Q: Who are your top 5 favorite artists to book?Link
A: I’m grateful for any artist being there who we know will put their heart and soul into their set and rock the stage. Some characters that stand out to me are Fisher, Zomboy, Carl Cox and Tiësto.
Q: Will we ever see Insomniac return to Texas?Link
A: We love Texas! There are no events planned right now, but we'll stop by with something every so often.
Q: Is there any sort of timeline when we might see a redesign for Wasteland?Link
A: Next year will be the last year we use that particular centerpiece where the DJ performs. We will reconfigure the containers and there will be some enhancements, but it's not going to get a new design until 2020.
Q: How come DNB has been slowly phased out of festivals? It used to get its own stage and now we’re lucky to have 5 artists for a 2 day event. And they’re all on early in the night. Why don’t we get the same range of artists as the other genres?Link
A: I am a huge fan of drum and bass and continue to push it at the festivals. The reason why there’s not as many artists as I would like and not always playing at peak times of the festival is because when we’ve done it, the turnout is low. You drum and bass heads should posse up and support and when we see it’s packed for them, we will add more artists and give them even better time slots.
Q: What do you think will be the next big thing in terms of productions at festivals? The fire, smoke, fireworks, fountains, and lights all tap into our senses and I'm curious what could be used additionally to create a total immersion at events.Link
A: Technology is changing but Insomniac is always keeping an eye out for what's next. We've explored VR, AR, and holograms, and we'll continue to feature those technologies in impactful ways. We're always looking for new ideas and new ways to enhance the experience. All I know is, EDC Las Vegas 2030 isn't going to look like EDC Las Vegas 2020!
Q: What do you guys look for in new artists that are trying to play EDC Las Vegas 2019?Link
A: We’re looking for artists who have the skillset to produce amazing tracks on their own as well as a sound that is unique from what other artists are doing. It’s always a bonus if they’ve already put themselves out there and people in the dance music community are excited to see them.
Q: Is it possible to create a no fly zone for Helicopters over the campground this year?Link
A: Thanks for making me aware! That sounds pretty annoying. We'll talk to the FAA and Nellis Air Force Base and see what we can do.
Q: What would you say was your biggest success last EDCLV?Link
A: I was very happy with the improvements to the shuttle operation and my negotiation with Mother Nature definitely paid off. Although there were challenges, I was happy with Camp EDC and the way the Kinetic Love stage turned out. With that said, everything can always be better.
Q: I’ve been going to EDC for years now and I absolutely loved the stage designs in 2013. The giant caterpillar at Beyond, the grim reaper at Escape, and the giant owl opening up at EDC with all the flowers and mushrooms around it. Would you ever bring anything like that back?Link
A: Those are some of my favorite stages, too. There are certain things that limit what we can do, but we'll surprise you with new stuff all the time.
Q: Is there any chance of actually doing a live VR experience for headliners at home? I heard this was a possibility a year or two ago, but what ever happened with it?Link
A: We’re still closely watching how the technology advances but I don’t feel that it’s there just yet to really have it to be a main focus, but we’ll continue to watch.
Q: Will the megastucture ever come back? Can Quantum Valley be in the megastructure? Can Neon Garden be a tent again? Will there ever be valet parking again? Can the bars start selling whole bottles of wine? Can beers please not be $15 each?Link
A: First off, I love you. Keep spittin' those question! Maybe the megastructure will come back, but not as the circuitGROUNDS. quantumVALLEY has been considered but that's not the plan for right now. We're trying something else. Before considering going back to a tent for neonGARDEN, we're looking at making 2018's experience better. There were a lot of logistical challenges with valet at EDC, so until those are figured out that's not something we'll be offering. I haven't asked the venue if they have the ability to sell boxed or large containers of wine, but that's an interesting idea. We don't set the prices for food and beverage at EDC Las Vegas. I always ask the Speedway to bring the prices down -- and will continue to ask -- but it's difficult because we don't operate that aspect of the festival.
A: We use third party ticket agencies that charge fees for their services to cover the cost of their expenses which include staff being on hand to support your purchases and making sure the website doesn’t crash. There’s also taxes and handling associated with each order that have to be covered. I hope this answers your question!
Q: What is your most memorable encounter with a fellow headliner?Link
A: I have so many! The most recent would be my phone call to a father and daughter that participated in #myedcmoments. Hearing their stories made me tear up it was so heartwarming. It felt really good to make sure they're going to be able to attend EDC Las Vegas 2019. I'm actually going to be posting that video soon. Look out for it.
Q: Any chance on having craft beer at any of the San Bernardino events?Link
A: The food and drink experience is very different from one venue to another, and some venues need more improvement than others. Whether that's pricing, variety, or quality, I agree it can all be better. The challenge is that venues usually dictate/operate this side of the festival experience. I am constantly pushing them to be better -- and there have been improvements -- but the progression is slow. I will continue pushing because I want you to be able to enjoy a quality brewski...and much more.
Misc questions answered by Insomniac_Events (official Insomniac reddit account)
Q: Quick question, my dad tried surprising me with my EDC ticket this year by purchasing the early release tickets (which was awesome!) but he didn't really know what he was doing and accidentally purchased GA+ not knowing there was a difference. How do we change that to a regular GA pass so he's not over spending on what I'll be using?Link
A: Please reach out to support.frontgatetickets.com to inquire about making a switch!
Q: Are the CampEDC tickets separate from the regular tickets? If so, do the camp tickets have layaway plan as well? Will last years be the same as this years (I’ve read the CampEDC thread and just want to be sure).Link
A: Hello! EDC tickets go on sale Friday, with Camp EDC info, pricing, and tickets coming later. EDC tickets and Camping Packages will be sold separately. We recommend getting your EDC ticket early, and planning for camping to go on sale at a later date. Layaway plans will be available for both tickets and camping.

A: Share your #MyEDCMoments on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook!
Q: The Camp EDC pool party was epic! Any changes you’re considering or anything you thought could have been better? Camping again without a doubt. Loved it!Link
